Our location offers the best of both worlds: close enough to walk into Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and discover its historic streets, cafés and restaurants, while providing a relaxing space to return to at the end of the day.

For your convenience, we offer private parking, as well as a secure garage for bicycles and motorbikes. Our garden and terrace provide a lovely place to relax, enjoy the surroundings and make the most of your stay.

From London to the Basque Country - our story

Having spent many summers visiting family in the Pays Basque, we decided to leave the hustle and bustle of London in search of a more balanced way of life for our family.

For us, Maison Bernatenia isn't simply a place to stay. It's our home, and we hope you'll feel that from the moment you arrive.

There are three of us in this adventure: Laurie and Roberto accompanied by our son Mateo.

Cultural sites

Visit the village of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (“Donibane Garazi” in Basque), a fortified city, dominated by its citadel. Since the Middle Ages, this village has seen thousands of pilgrims pass through each year on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

Monday there is also a local producers and artisans market every Thursday from June to September.
